San Francisco / San Pancho, Nayarit
San Francisco, or San Pancho as many of the locals call it, is a sleepy but colorful resort town. Palapas take the place of buildings. Located just North of Sayulita, San Pancho is an hour away from the Puerto Vallarta Airport. San Pancho is full of small town charm unlike the larger resort towns, it is a nice place for those who want the beautiful Mexican beaches without the hustle and bustle of a typical resort town.
San Pancho got its name from the patron saint San Francisco. The town was started as a fishing village and has remained small like this for the majority of its existence.
Because San Pancho is located outside of the Banderas Bay, you will find considerably more wave action.
